
The London Grid for Learning Annual Conference Awards (Primary)
Are you proud of the way your school has put to good use some of the array resources and services provided through LGfL?
This year, the LGfL Conference Awards for Primary Schools celebrate best practice and innovative approaches in using the wide range of learning resources and services provided through LGfL.
There are four categories of awards:
- Strategic Implementation of the London MLE in a Primary context
- Innovative use of the London MLE to support learning in a Primary context
- Innovative and effective use of LGfL resources or services to enrich teaching
- Innovative and effective use of LGfL resources or services to enhance learning and attainment
Winners and runners up will be announced during the LGfL Primary Schools’ Conference at the Emirates Stadium on Monday 2nd November. The London Grid for Learning is running the awards and the conference in association with Fronter.

Entries should be submitted by Friday 16th October 2009 to awards@lgfl.net or submit online
To submit via the London MLE
- Use the same username and password above to enter the room.
- Click on the Hand-In your award entry link
- Browse to upload your file – and press save.
Strategic Implementation of the London MLE in a Primary context
Schools need to demonstrate a planned and strategic approach to introducing and developing the deployment and use of the London MLE. Screen shots, photographs and quotes can accompany the entry which should state:
- Strategies used to achieve success
- The impact it has made to your school
Innovative use of the London MLE to support learning in a Primary context
Schools need to describe and evidence innovative approaches in the ways in which the school has used the London MLE to support learning. Screen shots, photographs and quotes can accompany the entry which should state:
- Strategies used to achieve success
- The impact it has made to your school
Innovative and Effective use of LGfL resources or services to enrich teaching
Primary schools need to show either a degree of innovation and/or a degree of effectiveness regarding their use of LGfL resources or services for the teacher’s benefit. Services used could, for example, include on-line premium curriculum content, podcasting, weather stations, video-conferencing or email.

Examples could include:
- Use of LGfL content to improve delivery of a subject
- Use of LGfL services to improve assessment or tracking of pupil progress
- Use of LGfL services to improve professional development
Submissions should clearly show what was done, the impact it made and how replicable this practice could be.
Innovative and Effective use of LGfL resources or services to enhance learning and attainment
Primary schools need to show either a degree of innovation and/or a degree of effectiveness regarding their use of LGfL resources or services for the pupil’s benefit, leading to enhanced learning and attainment. Services used could include the London MLE, podcasting, weather stations, online curriculum content, video-conferencing or email.
Examples could include:
- Use of LGfL content to raise attainment in a subject
- Use of LGfL services to support mentoring or peer review
- Use of LGfL services to improve independent learning
Submissions should clearly show what was done, the impact it made and how replicable this practice could be.
