London MLE 82 release
The official release notes from Fronter regarding the 82 release of the London MLE are now available. This is currently due to go live for London on 25th August. Note that there are no significant changes to the look and feel, only that the additional features as listed will be available. Download 82 release information
London MLE – End of Year Procedures · EOY_London_MLE_Admin.pdf (updated 28-07-08) · EOY_London_MLE_Teachers_Guide.pdf · EOY_London_MLE_Exec_Summary.pdf Schools can start this process now and continue during the summer and into early next academic year where necessary. Stage 3, which outlines the new MIS import process and how to check room access rights, will be available shortly. The existing guides will be updated to reflect this. However schools should not be completing Stage 3 until the start of the new academic year. Fronter will also shortly be issuing a separate guide for KS2 to KS3 transition.
LGfL Consortium 2008 The annual consortium meeting was a whole day affair this year. Representatives from all over London attended to hear the round up of the year's work and to look to the future. Among the guest speakers were Paul Shoesmith from Becta on MIS integration and Roger Larsen from Fronter on the London MLE. 14-19 Collaboration Room There is now a central room for 14-19 collaboration on the London MLE. The room is aimed at 14-19 co-ordinators across London for them to share resources and discuss issues. A guide on how to subscribe to the room is available or you can simply emai chris.wood@lgfl.org.uk to be included. Initial documents include an example tool package for a 14-19 classroom and minutes from the initial 14-19 London meeting. Redbridge Podcasting Network This network began its development in July 2007. There are three schools and the Redbridge Primary ICT consultant involved in the network:

They have achieved this through regular meetings, evaluating software, trialling ideas and sharing practice. As you will see from the examples given by the schools, they achieved their objectives. Waltham Forest – `Animals Into Art Assembly` via Video Conference On July 3rd at 9.30am Chingford Hall Primary, Barclay Junior, Dawlish Primary, Hillyfield Primary, Gwyn Jones Primary and The Beaumont School in Waltham Forest all met via video conference using Click to Meet. Four schools were able to give live presentations to each other and to Tom Whitehead (Animals into Art, Consultant) and Aysha Kamal (Literacy Consultant, LBWF) who were judging the performances from each school. The multipoint video conference was a great success. It was the best possible technological solution that could have been used to bring all the schools together, at the same time.
